Located within the beautiful D'Aguilar National Park this escarpment is the first new rock climbing area in Queensland for 50 years. It was due to the long drought thinning dense bushland foliage, that I first spied this amazing rock outcrop.
It then took multiple attempts to finally determine a feasible route to the site. There is no defined track and the terrain is rugged. There is a particularly challenging descent into a valley, creek crossing, and final ascent to the escarpment. The new route was marked with full sensitivity to the environment and National Park guidelines. Predominantly with placement of rock cairns.
With access resolved, and with the assistance of my climbing buddies, we have now developed the site with some great multi-pitch climbs. I claimed the first ascent, of the first route, which I have aptly called "Don't get lost" a grade 15.

WARNING: The route shown below is for experienced bushwalkers only. There is no clearly defined path and difficult terrain. Please ensure you have water, suitable clothing, map and compass, snake bite kit, and ideally an EPIRB. Also advise someone your intended route and expected time of return.

This photo was taken from a long way off so lacks detail but the first 30 meter (100 foot) route "don't get lost" is on the far right mostly hidden by foliage.

About to set off for the long hike in... take plenty of water !

Nearing the top of the climb after rappelling down. First route in this new climbing area christened "Don't Get Lost" in honour of our focus getting here!
